Martin, Executive Editor, Book Program, Aperture FoundationRod Slemmons, Director, Museum of Contemporary Photography, ChicagoPROJECT COMPETITION The tenth-annual Project Competition honors committed photographers working on long-term documentary projects or fine art series. This competition offers exposure to worthy photographic projects and provides opportunity to gifted photographers. Three jurors come to a consensus on the First Prize and three Finalists. Each individual juror also selects a project that captures their attention to receive one of the three Juror's Choice awards.
Prizes include $5,000, complimentary participation in Review Santa Fe, full-tuition scholarships to the Santa Fe Workshops, and more.Previous First Prize winners include Maggie Taylor 2004, Bill Hogan 2003, Steve Davis 2002, Osamu James Nakagawa 2001, Ross Van Horn 2000, Beth Yarnelle Edwards 1999, Laurent Millet 1998, Lori Grinker 1997, and Bart Michiels 1995.Entry forms for Project Competition are available on-line at www.santafecenterforphotography.org, by phoning 505.984.8353, or by emailing e-mail protected from spam bots .OUR MISSIONThe Santa Fe Center for Photography is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that honors, supports and provides opportunity for gifted and committed photographers.
